Komarnica and Nevidio
I wrote about Tara and Durmitor a lot of scientific works and popular articles. I popularized this area through word and picture. But somehow in spite of the great beauty and value of Durmitor and Tara a part of the nature always split out in my public presentations. I do not reach it. Not because of no deserving, but because all expected to hear something about the most beautiful mountain of Balkan. And this day I shall start with this, a little neglected natural phenomenon, the canyon of the river Komarnica and its most beautiful part, unreachable Nevideo (never seen). It is beside the village of the same name as the river. This is the village from which the most of Durmitorians come. This is the village from which the people often immigrated to area of settlements from Virak to Zabljak. Nowadays it is somehow the end of the world. Almost nobody comes. Local residents live quietly, undisturbed at all with madness and tempo of civilization to which we the urban people belong. Lucky, I often manage to run away. One of the places I like to go is Komarnica.
  
The primal interest was motivated by my scientific work. During more then ten years of research our team from Novi Sad discovered there some animal and floral species that really excited us. The most important species ((I know a few) are unique in the world. On enter in the canyon only and in Nevideo exist the species which we can find only in narrow Mediterranean zone, along its shore. It is mystery for science how they have reached the canyon, but in any case they point to the Mediterranean oases at the odd place. And all is explicable. And this phenomenon will be explained. But till that time it has to be used and cared.
   
But how use and care it at the some time? The way is let people to come to see its beauty, to enjoy it, and to understand at the some time that only well cared and beautiful canyon as it is now, can be tourist attraction. I have started this job by my own. Every year during spring and summer I bring a few groups of my friends and students to enjoy the beauty of Durmitor and Tara, and we have to visit Komarnica. And nobody protests against going during the narrow and bad road, 50 kilometers long from Zabljak. On the contrary, everybody was delighted. It is really challenge to come in Nevideo, to go through its first part. During these five years, as long as my "tourist" job lasts, tens and tens have experienced this adventure. And everybody carry wonderful impressions. You can easy see it on the pictures I use to illustrate this article.
   
But so on only a few people know the value and beauty of Komarnica and Nevideo. Maybe, it is time for those who are interested to lead faster Montenegro to the way of ecologic tourism, to understand it and to use this area on the best possible way. For pleasure of people and nature. To stay as it is. Wild and wonderful.
